Powers: Thomas is your regular run of the mill shape shifter. Able to shift from human to half-snake and there is evidence that he will be able to further progress into a full snake given time and practice.
Scales cover a good portion of his body now that his talents have manifested, they are there no matter what form he is in though he hopes to one day be able to shift so that his skin is "normal."
History: Thomas was born with snake-like eyes which was the main reason he was given up for adoption and also the reason he was so hard to place. When he was 7 however, he was adopted by an old Xavier's student by the name of Leilani Rose, also known as Wisp. At this point in her life she had married, her husband being human but pro-mutant.
With two dedicated parents Thomas thrived, soon becoming a big brother to his sister Sasha. She has yet to show evidence of a mutation. Despite his environment Thomas remains shy, he is perhaps the only student with no fear of Mrs. Koffman though as her sister and his mother are still quite good friends.
His family lives near the school and he sees them often. He came to the institute at the begining of the summer, his parents hoping that the lesser amount of students would make the switch less daunting for him.
Physical Description: 6' 0" and 185 lbs. He tends to dress something akin to a farm boy in the movies, being fond of jeans and sandals. His hair is a dark black, not very long, but longer than what might be considered usual. He's a fairly good looking youth, having spent much of his free time outdoors doing various activities that helped keep him healthy and toned. His eyes are a greenish yellow, they could be mistaken for cat's eyes if one declined to notice the flesh colored scales that covered most of his body. His face is left smooth as are the palms of his hands but that is mostly it.
Edit:
Due to an increasing amount of stress Thomas was, for a short while trapped up to his shoulders in his snake form. While shifted his scales had been green, with no discerning patterns.
Not having spent any time pushing his powers in the past the newness of all this is at times daunting.
While "thinking snakey thoughts" at the local all ages club recently, Thomas' tongue began to fork and
a pattern began to form.
So far the pattern has stayed, whether he has shifted or not. Thomas as yet has professed no opinions about this but his behavior is slightly more erradic.
Edit:
Thomas is able to shift fully human, with no scales, as well as fully snake, though in that form he is very very uncomfortable and so he rarely practices it. He does occasionally wake up shifted into various forms, whether it's only his tail in place of his legs, snake up to his neck, or entirely shifted to his snake form... The first time was unnerving but he's gotten the hang of shifting out of these predicaments.
