Name: Alexander Ross
Age: 16
Codename: Undecided
Country of Origin: United States

Power: Energy focusing. Alexander’s power manifests visibly as a star-shaped mark on the palm of his hand, which seems to serve as a focus for the energies that power him. The energies allow him to fly, and afford him a bit of extra durability naturally. He can also utilize them in one of three ways at a time:
Projection: He can use it to emit powerful force blasts from his palm, to a range of roughly ten feet. Any farther away and the blast dissipates harmlessly.
Strength: By focusing the energy inward, he can enhance his strength and durability, making him super-strong if he puts the energy into it. This is the least taxing use of his power.

Upcoming development: Learning to use the energy to create a shielding effect.

History: Alexander grew up in a fairly conservative family in Chicago, a family that, like most of America, was outraged by the airport bombing at the beginning of the year. This outrage turned to outright horror when his power manifested. It was quickly confirmed that yes, he was a mutant, and a somewhat obvious one, as well. His family lacked any sort of idea about how to deal with it, so they did the only thing that came naturally: shipped him off. Morenz was too close to home for their tastes, so it was decided that Alexander would go to Xavier’s.

Physical Description: Alexander is medium height, at 5’11”, with short blonde hair and dark brown eyes, with a medium.

Customary to wait a bit before making a new character. I approved the post so that everyone can see it. Come back to this in a few months if you are still interested in it. :3

Thanks.

Gonna let my partner in crime look this over first, but for reference, he has put in a name change request.

As long as you have the OK from Kyle Turnbull on Kyle I'm cool with this name.

I forgot about Turnbull. I wasn't set on the name anyway. Could you switch it to "Alexander Ross"? I don't want to edit or the thread vanishes again.

My initial thoughts are that he seems overly developed for someone who's had their power less than a year.

I have no problems with the powerset as a whole but I think he'd be a better fit at XI with one or more of extra abilities moved down into power development.

Sounds like a good deal. In that case, move his shielding to "developments." The other two are pretty basic "brute force smash!" applications, they don't require much thought.

Ok.

Beyond that, I just have some mechanics question.

Does using power for the other abilities affect his capacity to fly?

Is the extra durability a force field effect or just his body being a little tougher than the norm?

No, they don't affect it. I mean, short of passing out from exhaustion, flying uses very, very little of his power. Read: it'd just be complicated as hell to have things interfere with the flying.

The "always" part of his durability is just him being a little tougher than normal. I mean, things can hurt him, he'll feel pain, but it's harder to SERIOUSLY injure him.
